Difficulty modes compared

Wayfarer, Pathbreaker, Hellwalker and 66 Days — what actually changes, and when 66 Days unlocks.

Four modes, not a slider

S-GAME has confirmed four distinct modes rather than a generic difficulty setting. They change how bosses behave, not just how much damage numbers do.

What each one is for

  • Wayfarer — cinematic and accessible, explicitly built so anyone can feel like a kung fu master.
  • Pathbreaker — the standard challenge, and the baseline most coverage is played on.
  • Hellwalker — bosses react to your positioning, punish whiffed attacks and adapt to your habits in real time.
  • 66 Days — Hellwalker combat plus the story countdown as a mechanic: every death burns remaining days, and zero ends the run permanently.

66 Days is gated

The permadeath mode is locked behind a first completion on Pathbreaker or higher. That is a deliberate design choice — you are expected to already know boss patterns before the countdown starts costing you.

Which should you pick

If you want the combat without the execution demands, Wayfarer is a legitimate choice rather than a consolation prize. If you are here for the boss design, Pathbreaker is where the reactive AI starts to show up properly.

We will publish concrete differences in enemy health, damage and poise once the game ships — those numbers are not public, and we are not going to guess them.
